A 29-year-old lady, gynaec by profession was detected lump in her breast after second pregnancy. She went to breast surgeon. Breast surgeon thought that it was a galectocele but it was misdiagnosis. As lump went on increasing, she showed it to breast cancer specialist. After diagnosis it was confirmed she is having breast cancer.
She was advised to go for Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy (NACT). But there was only a partial response after NACT. She denied performing MRM and wanted breast-conserving therapy. Then she came to Care Speciality Hospital and visited Dr Mahesh Pawar. A doctor performed a PET scan and found the mass is non-metastatic.
After a discussion with the plastic surgeon and patient, Dr. Pawar decided to go ahead with mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. A large mass was removed with partial mastectomy and axillary dissection of very large LNS and R0 resection was done. Surgery is followed by immediate plastic reconstruction with LD flap. An innovative double-skin padded LD FLAP was done to cover and reconstruct the breast.
